Responsibilities

• Support developer for New England Coffee’s flagship website, a storefront site built with WordPress and WooCommerce
• Stood up a local version of the site by pulling from Git and Composer, synching with MySQL, and altering configuration files
• Troubleshot and remedied various bugs
  • Fixed a form issue that prevented users from updating their account info
  • Amended a conflict between a plugin and third-party social feed that caused content to stop rendering

• Implemented a notification bar with various options like start and end time to promote messages
• Created a field that allowed admins to specify a coffee roast level, which translated into a visual meter on the front end
• Customized the cart and checkout views so that users could see a product’s regular and sale prices alongside one another
• Amended Google Search Console errors and warnings
• Updated 100+ WooCommerce templates with hooks rather than overrides to keep the core files untouched, which allowed them to be upgradable with new releases
